A New Chapter for The Kensington Hideaway After Extensive Investment

Monday, 2nd February 2026

JMK Group is pleased to announce the opening of The Kensington Hideaway, a newly reimagined boutique hotel located on High Street Kensington, London. The hotel officially opened on 2 February 2026, marking the completion of a major refurbishment and repositioning of the former Seraphine Kensington. The transformation has created a distinctive four‑star boutique hotel rooted in place, design and storytelling.

The Kensington Hideaway forms part of JMK Group’s long‑term strategy to invest in well‑located hospitality assets and reposition them for today’s discerning traveller. The project reflects a considered approach to development, combining thoughtful design, operational efficiency and a strong sense of neighbourhood identity.

A Design‑Led Repositioning

The 59‑room hotel has been reimagined as a calm, literary‑inspired retreat, drawing subtle influence from notable writers closely associated with Kensington, including Agatha Christie, T. S. Eliot, William Makepeace Thackeray and P. L. Travers. Rather than overt theming, literary references are woven discreetly into the interiors through materials, detailing and layered textures, creating a refined and contemporary guest experience.

Interiors were designed by London‑based studio Tonik, whose approach balances residential warmth with understated elegance. Across guest rooms and public areas, the design focuses on comfort, craftsmanship and longevity, supporting the hotel’s positioning as a quiet sanctuary within one of London’s most established neighbourhoods.

Food, Beverage and Community Focus

The Kensington Hideaway features an intimate restaurant and bar with seating for up to 35 guests, conceived as a relaxed social space for both hotel guests and local residents. Open throughout the day, the offering supports casual dining, drinks and informal meetings, reinforcing the hotel’s role as a neighbourhood‑led destination rather than a transient city hotel.

A Prime Central London Location

Situated just moments from Kensington Palace, the Natural History Museum and South Kensington, the hotel benefits from a prime central London location while offering a quieter, more residential alternative to larger lifestyle hotels. This balance makes The Kensington Hideaway particularly well suited to corporate travellers, longer stays and guests seeking a refined yet understated London base.

Part of JMK Group’s Investment Strategy

The Kensington Hideaway represents JMK Group’s continued commitment to investing in high‑quality hospitality assets across the UK and Ireland. By carefully repositioning existing properties and aligning them with clear market demand, the Group continues to build a portfolio that blends strong brand identity, thoughtful design and long‑term value creation.

We are a dynamic, family-run business, confident in our ability to build long-term success and capacity to assemble performance through constant perseverance and hard work.
